Finding things to do

Chirpy members share their ideas and encouragement:

Alex says: I'm staying busy, painting the house I recently purchased... it's going to be a long job, as I'm doing it alone, but I'm enjoying the challenge. At the end of the day, I can stand back and say "Not bad, kiddo!"
In between wielding a paintbrush, I'm sorting out stuff from the move, assembling storage units and rationalizing that stuff into tubs (or the bin).
Plus I've rediscovered the joys of jigsaw puzzles! And redecorating!
And if I get really bored, there's always the TV or a DVD, or Netflix, or a book...
Cheers, and stay safe everyone.

Simon says:  Last year Land Care Research asked volunteers to observe the different types of birdlife in our garden and report numbers to an official site. What better time now to re-do that survey with all of us at home with time on our hands?

How many different birds visit your garden? Identify them here.

Cogar says: In our house, we've been having a cleanout. I found a local community Facebook site called Give, Share and Receive. If anyone is interested puts their name forward to be considered. You can then choose who you want to give your item too. There are rules that forbid onselling so the people who put their names forward are not doing it to profit but genuinely want the article. So everyone keeps safe the items are left on the front porch and picked up at a pre-arranged time. Giving becomes addictive. {Note: Depending on the Alert level giving items away may not be permitted - we suggest they can be stored until the lock-down is over.}

Stan says: Have dogs, they will greet you every morning with a huge tail wag also a slobbering kiss, if you let them, they will NOT let you doss about, even bring their leads as if to say "oi walk time" would have gone stir crazy without my girls (dogs) when this is all over would really like company for a walk then hot chocolate. Take care and be safe
